Privacy Policy
pdfier is built so that your documents stay on your phone. Every tool — scanning, merging, converting, compressing, signing, editing, redacting and OCR — runs on the device itself. There is no account, and your files are never sent to a server, including ours.
This policy explains the small amount of information that does leave your phone: anonymous usage analytics, crash reports, and the data Google needs to show ads. You can switch the analytics and crash reporting off inside the app at any time.
Your documents and files
Files you open are copied into pdfier’s private storage only while a tool is working on them, and those working copies are cleared the next time you open the app. Finished results stay in Recent on your device until you delete them, or save or share them yourself.
We never receive your files, their contents, their filenames, or any text inside them. No part of a document is transmitted anywhere.
Camera and scanning
The camera permission is used only to scan documents. Scanning uses your phone’s own document scanner and on-device text recognition; on Android, Google Play services may install the scanner module once. Camera frames and scanned pages are processed entirely on the device and are never uploaded.
Analytics and crash reports
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both from Google, to understand which screens and tools are used and to receive a stack trace when something crashes. This is limited to screen names, tool identifiers, crash diagnostics and general device information.
It never includes a filename, a document, or anything inside a document. You can turn all of it off in Settings; the switch controls analytics and crash reporting together.
Advertising
pdfier shows ads from Google AdMob after a tool finishes and on the AI tab. To select, deliver and measure those ads, Google receives device and usage information such as your IP address, device type and your device’s advertising ID.
The advertising ID is a resettable identifier that Android provides to apps. You can reset it, or stop apps from using it entirely, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. We never send Google your files or their contents.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent before any personalised advertising data is used, through Google’s consent form. Your choice is remembered, and you can change it at any time from Settings inside the app.
What we do not do
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not know who you are.
- We do not upload, store, scan or index your documents.
- We do not sell personal information.
- Pasted HTML and Markdown cannot reach the internet — remote images and stylesheets are not loaded, so no server learns what you convert.
- If you join the AI-tier waiting list, your email address is stored on your device only and is not transmitted.
Children
pdfier is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can turn off analytics and crash reporting in Settings, reset or block your advertising ID in Android’s own settings, change your ad-consent choice from Settings, and delete any result from Recent. Uninstalling pdfier removes everything it has stored on your device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the revised version will be published on this page with a new revision date. Continuing to use pdfier after that date means the revised policy applies.
